The sharks are the primary antagonists of the 2013 Syfy original movie Sharknado. The sharks were lifted by a waterspout and dropped on Los Angeles where they wreaked havoc and killed. The sharks mostly consisted of great whites and hammerheads. The sharks will also be featured in the sequel Sharknado 2: The Second One where they will wreak havoc on New York City.

When a freak hurricane hits Los Angeles, the sharks are lifted by waterspouts and floods the city with man-eating shark infested water. When Fin Shepard sets out with his friends Baz Hogan and Nova Clarke to find his wife April Wexler and teenage daughter Claudia, April's boyfriend is eaten by the sharks.

When the group decides to stop the threat of incoming "sharknadoes" by tossing bomb into them from helicopters, Nova falls out of the helicopter and directly into a great white shark's mouth. When Matt lands on the ground, a flying great white shark plummets toward the remaining members of the group. Fin then jumps into the sharks mouth with a chainsaw and the sharks eats him. However, Fin cuts his way out with the chainsaw along with Nova and the shark is killed.

Sharknado 2: The Second One

The sharks are scheduled to return in the sequel where they weak havoc on New York City.

Flaming Shark: This shark was on fire and seen going down the stairs.

Rock Shark: A shark with rocks on it and attacks a train with Fin in side it.

Bomb Shark: A shark with the stomach to drop bombs.

Notes

• The sharks were, like most Syfy original movie monsters, created with CGI graphics and are the third shark characters to appear in a Syfy original movie. The first being Paul King and S-11.
• Although only great white sharks are seen on the poster for Sharknado, there were several, if not more, hammerhead sharks seen in the film.
